(I’ve, it’s, doesn’t),
(English-speaking, pop-star),
(USA, e-mail).

You have received a letter from your English-speaking pen-friend Peter who writes:

... Reading books is my favourite pastime. Is reading important to you? Why? How do you like to spend your leisure time? What is your parents’ attitude to your hobbies and interests?

Yesterday was my father’s birthday ...

Write a letter to Peter. In your letter:

    − answer his questions;

− ask 3 questions about his father’s birthday.

    Write 100–140 words.

Remember the rules of letter writing.

    • I know that you are fond of…

    • Anyway, I'd better go now as I have a lot of homework to do. Take care and keep in touch.
    • I’m looking forward to your answer. Keep in touch.
    • Write back soon.
    • Well, got to go now. Keep in touch.
    • Drop me a letter when you can.
    • Hope to hear from you soon.
    • I can’t wait to hear from you!

    • Love,
    • Lots of love,
    • All my love,
    • All the best,

Thanks a lot for your letter.

I was delighted to hear from you again

I’m fond of reading and it is my favourite pastime.

Is reading important to you? Why? How do you like to spend your leisure time?)

I’m reading a new book by J.K. Rowling … (ask 3 questions about the book)

    • What genre is it?
    • Is it about Harry Potter?
    • What is the title of the book?

    • Do you like it?
    • Where did you buy it?
    • How long have you been reading it?

(Dear Peter,)

Слова-связки типа however, moreover, in my view стоит оставить для эссе. Для личного письма - well, also, by the way, anyway, so, actually.
